What is a Forklift Stability Triangle?
The Stability Triangle is a crucial concept in forklift operation and safety. It represents a three-point suspension system that plays a key role in maintaining the stability of the forklift. The three points that form this triangle are the centre of each front wheel and the pivot point of the rear axle. When these points are connected with imaginary lines, they form a triangle, known as the Stability Triangle.
As long as the forklift’s centre of gravity, which shifts depending upon the load and its height, stays within this triangle, the forklift is considered stable and safe to operate.
